Update installation and Installer not available

I have 2 problems that may or may not be related:
1. Office 2003 detect and repair - says installation source not found,
despite that it used to work and I have the CD, and
2. Fails to install .net framework 2.0 and 3.0 updates - clicking on the X?
on teh failure screen results in nothing happening (link does not work)
I would value any insights - thanks!

Thanks for the help --- I started uninstalling - first .net 3.0 and it
uninstalled fine, but 1.2, 2.0 each indicated an installation source was not
available so I could not uninstall iot - any thoughts would be appreciated -

Both references mention different utilities to remove all .NET Framework
versions: Did you try using either of them?
