UPDATE INSTALLATION FAILURE - NO ERROR CODE

I can not update to SP2 from XP SP1. Also can not longer install other
updates from the Microsoft update site.

When I attempt to update/install SP2, everything goes as expected, Site
loads fine, scans for updates, and recommends SP2. I had downloaded it in
the past but did not install, so it tells me 1 update selected, 0KB, 0min.
Select install, and EULA comes up, followed by "initializing installation".
Progress bar zips by, and then I get an "Installation failed" message. Thats
it.

Tried to install other updates, same symptoms. Message "The following
installations were not successful" and a list of every download.

Any help would be appreciated.
