Update installing over and over again

64-bit Vista Home Premium

Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Junk Email Filter (KB970012) is
repeatedly installing here. No sooner do I respond to the prompt to install
it that a few minutes later it appears again as a new important update.

Funny thing is, I don't even HAVE Office 2007. I do however have Office
Professional 2003.

How do I dispense with this repeated update?

Interesting side-note to the above.

I decided to manually download the update and try installing it, but I got
a message saying "There are no products affected by this package installed
on this system".

It's classified as important so I can't hide it.

Uninstall the update from Programs and Features (be sure to tick the box to
show updates) and then immediately reboot even if no reboot is required.
That should clear the immediate problem. Then you should be able to
download and install it if necessary.

The update does not appear in the list - which is probably why Windows
Update keeps trying to push it out to me.

Tom

The reason being is that you have downloaded and installed either all or one or more
of the following on your Office 2003 Pro to be able to view the new format(s) like
doxc (doc).

Word 2007 Viewer
PP 2007 Viewer
Excel 2007 Viewer

Unfortunately because of the above 2007 Viewers that you installed the Office Update
and the Windows Update reads that you also have Office 2007 besides Office 2003.
This is a known issue that all encounter that has done the same as you .You only
have the choices to either download it and install it (will do no harm) or hide the
said Update (s)

Neither. I bought a new dual-core computer with 64-bit Vista Home Premium
pre-installed - custom-built to my specifications. The only reason I went
to 64-bit was that I wanted 8 gig of ram for gaming.
