Update for Internet Explorer for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (kb9128

I can't get windows update to install the Cumulative Update for Internet
Explorer for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (KB912812) nor can I get IE 7 Beta 2
to install. None of the methods listed in the IE 7 Beta 2 troubleshooter
apply. Please advise.

Do you have "moved" the Program Files folder onto another partition
than the system partition (where Windows is installed on)?

I am having pretty much the same problems as you and also 3 others that I
have tried to install will not stick and "update" keeps telling me I still
need them.I have moved nothing My machine is the same as it has been and
never had this problem before.
I'm also having an issue loading my HP software for my Officejet 500.Seems
as if it has the same problem.It acts like it is loading but nothing happens
and I have been to their site and spoke to their techs and they think it is a
XP problem.Any help would be appreciated...

Yes, I keep all my System files on a separate partition than my program
files. Makes it easier to backup and restore.

I sure hope someone can help soon as I miss my HP software and as for the
rest I'm hoping Microsoft will fix the problem.

That's the reason for KB912812 nor IE7B2 to abort installation on your
system.
