Update Issue - Crashing Computer

I recently performed an update from Windows Update. Part of the update was
an update of my video driver

SiS M760GX

I was previously using a driver from 9/22/2008 (provider - SiS; Driver
Version - 6.14.10.386) and it upgrade it to 6/??/2009. I had also recently
installed office 2007.

Anyways, after this point the computer would become unresponsive, choppy
(move the mouse - nothing would happen and then all of a sudden it would
pop-up elsewhere). I originally thought it had to be related to Office 2007
but after numerous trys, I finally thought to rollback this driver and
evrything is back to normal.

There is obviously a problem with the update!

I went to the update page, thinking I'd pass along this info to MS. The
only contact method I located involved paying for support?! So I thought I'd
make a post here and hopefully, the info would be reviewed by someone who can
pass the info along to the right people since I can't seem to contact them
myself.

I wonder how may other people are suffering from this issue since they
updated (whether they know it or not).

Hopefully this will help someone else out there with the same problem,

Said it before, many times.
Will probably say it again, many times.
Haven't even said it alone...

Do not get hardware device drivers from Microsoft for products they did not
produce. Always get hardware device drivers from the hardware device
manufacturer. Microsoft is not ATI/AMD, nVidia, Intel, Broadcom, SiS, ABIT,
3COM, Creative Labs, Sigmatel, etc. The list could go on and on. Microsoft
supports their products - not those. Go to the source for your drivers.

Sometimes the manufacturer of some items only make the *chips* for said
items (SiS is one of these) and they suggest going elsewhere (to the
manufacturer of the end-product itself - video, motherboard, etc.) In cases
like that you can usually visit the motherboard manufacturer's web site for
the driver, the video card manufacturer's web site for the driver or so on.

In your case - the video card is likely integrated into the motherboard
(given the type - SiS) and so you would be better served by visiting the
motherboard manufacturer site for your needs for a driver (if you even need
one - what problems were/are you having with the older driver? Screen
flashes? Doesn't display something? Screen elements don't move?)
