Update KB 960715 breaks ACCESS 2003 apps

I use MSFlexGrid (msflxgrd.ocx) controls in an Access 2003 App.
Update 960715 'kills' that OCX. (By not allowing it to load) (No it does NOT
only apply to the two OCX mentioned in the advisory - Akamai? & one other).
I have attempted to install the VB6 update that installs the Nov 2008 OCX's,
but of course I can't because I don't have VB6 installed.
If I remove the 960715 update, the app runs fine, but of course the machines
are then vulnerable, and Outlook plays up - I guess unless I remove the
Update for IE7 inmstalled at the same time.
I don't play the blame game, I don't care how or why I have the problem, I
simply need a solution.
Can anyone tell me how to get my hands on the Nov 2008 msflxgrd.ocx (as in
download)? Or perhaps provide another solution?

I'd say the question at this point is ... how did you get that control installed
on your system in the first place?

If you have Office Project 2003 installed as well as Access 2003, the patch you
probably need is this one:

<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=89a44042-a629-40f3-800a-0bb45fc36591&displaylang=en>

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

(This *might* work even if you don't have Project installed; worth a try, at least.)

If the control was installed by a locally developed or third-party application,
the update should be available from the developer.

Harry.
