Update KB891781repeating to install

KB891781 installed okay but keep on getting the yellow shield in the task bar
after the update date is installed saying that an update is ready to install.
That update is KB891781 again. So I installed it again and the same thing
happened. The yellow shield does not go away after the update is installed.
Also I don't understand why I get the update shield because I have auto
update on and that occurs at 12:00am evry day.

I have the Same Problem With two Critical Updates KB891781, and 823559
Security Update, They intalled properly but still keep coming up in windows
update, and my Notification keeps saying I have updates (Any Ideas)

I too am facing the same problem ever since I reinstalled my IE. The icon for
"updates ready to install" does not go away even after installing the one
critical update in it. The update is a cumulative security update for Outlook
Express 6 SP1.

I have installed this update like 10-15 times and also restarted my machine
but the icon never seems to go away!!

What about the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer?

Not up tp speed on Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer. Where is it located?

Dear crusinpapa,

1) Use MBSA to determine whether this update is required.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../mbsahome.mspx

2) Try using "Start -> Windows Update" to intsall the KB891781 Security
Update.

Thanks for the info on the analyzer. I have only used the window update
feature to install.
