Update KB893086 Stuffed my Audio

After installing KB893086, my audio would intermittently go into a "rapid
play" mode, where it would kind of skip little bits, several times per
second. This happened with WMP10, Windows Sound Recorder, InterVideo WinDVD
4, and iTunes. The problem slowly got worse, until it was almost ALWAYS
faulty. Finally, yesterday, I uninstalled KB893086 and all my audio suddenly
worked perfectly!
Does anyone know if it's just a fault with the "update", or is there a
problem with my settings or something??? Any info would be useful. Thanks.
P.S. I'm running XP Pro 5.1, SP2 on an AMD Athlon 1900 machine. All
drivers are up to date.
