Hello Andres,

Regarding your right-click problem:

If you have an Nvidia graphics card on your computer, see if the computer also has Nview Destop context menu.
Get the "ShellEXView" utility from this link
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html .

Install it & run it to find out whether you have NView Desktop context menu.

If you do see it listed in ShellEXView, then "disable" it. Then see if your problems stop.

Post back to advise if this worked, or if you still have a problem.

You may want to update your Nvidia video card drivers, in case
you have a Nvidia video card. If you don't have one in your
machine, please feel free to read some of the various threads
in here about KB908531 quirks and the workarounds/fixes published
too.

Bye,
Freudi

I experienced the same thing. I am using XP Home and Professional on two
different PCs with Office 2003 Professional. Right after installing KB908531,
KB912812, KB911562 and KB 911567 I found that I could not save any office
document anywhere but to My Documents. I could not even use the Move File
function. I did a restore as you did and all problems vanished. I narrowed it
down to KB908531 and KB911562. Not sure which one is the culprit.

I also found that I could not paste a photo into a PowerPoint I was working
on. The file was on my desktop. Still researching that problem but will
remove security updates until all works okay again.

I have Radeon and Audigy so my problem does not seem to be associated with
my components.

Problems in Windows Explorer or the Windows shell after you install
security update MS06-015
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165/en-us
Microsoft Security Bulletin MS06-015

Vulnerability in Windows Explorer Could Allow Remote Code Execution
(908531)
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms06-015.mspx

For those who have Hewlett Packard's Share to Web Software, there
are two registry patches to choose from (run either one or the
other) not both:

I've made a "patch" back on Saturday available at:
http://patch-info.de/WinXP/Downloads...are-To-Web.zip
(Note this is a Zip file and will need to be extracted. It contains
a REG file which needs to be imported into the registry via double
clicking the contained REG file. You may have to reboot Windows
afterwards.)

or

Kelly has made a patch with exact same functionality available at:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line #383 - this is a vbs file and instructions on how to use such
files are at the top of the page.

If you're using a Nvidia video card, you may want to update the driver
for that card: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

In case you're running a Kerio firewall software, please reread
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165/en-us cloesly.

HTH,
Freudi

Hi,
I had exactly the same problem as the one listed below, and tried the advice
about disabling Nview desktop context menu and it worked
