I have Dell Dimension with P5 2G (I Think) Win XP home. Automatic update
installed KB912919 critical update and rebooted. Everything seemed OK except
it slowed way doun. Windows Task Manager showed CPU usage at constant 100%
with nothing else running. It normally is less than 5%. System restore fixed
it. I forgot to kill auto update so it did it again over night. Same problem.
Sys Restore fixed it again. Why would this update slow me down this way?

I think I figured it out. I had recently down-loaded an update for Adobe
acrobat reader. The down load asked if I would like to try Adobe Photoshop
Album Starter Edition 3.0. I did. I finaly noticed the CPU usage in Win task
manager for a file called apdproxy.exe running at 95-99%. This file was
associated with Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0. After uninstall. all
seems OK. I have other photo programs. I don't realy need Photoshop Album
Starter Edition 3.0. I guess free is not realy free.
