I Have Additional Information, the problem is with windows Vista business and
Office 2003. It has to do something with a file mapisvc.inf because trying to
do a manuel update, says you have no access permission.

Hi again,
Please locate your Excel.exe in Program directory and check if the version
is higher or lower than v11.0.8134.0.
If it is lower, kindly go to
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...A-3E0C8993C04C
Download the update and install it manually. See if that will succeed with
the installation.

Donna

The version of EXCEL.EXE is 11.0.8120 which is lower. I tried manuel update
of KB933666 and I get cannot update mapisvc.inf. This file exists in the
windows\system32 directory

Try this:
Open the properties of mapisvc.inf and try to change the permission of
Administrators to have full access (if it's not yet).
Try again to install the update. When successful, undo what you did with
the inf file.

I am receiving the same error. Windows Update is trying to install an update
for Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager (KB935569). I had this
problem the last time this was updated back in May(?). Any help would be
great.

I just had this problem with Office 2003 when I tried to apply Service Pack
3. Apparently, the same problem keeps coming up again and again. I solved it
after reading about the mavispc.inf file permissions being the cause. (I used
a third party utility called Take Ownership, which has helped me before
solving problems that Microsoft either can't fix or is not interested in,
concerning USB mass storage devices not working in Vista after an upgrade
from XP).

It is amazing to me that such a problem can even exist with updates that
Microsoft issues for its own software, and that the company does not provide
a solution or any support information, except for those of us who are
determined to search very hard, have the time to spare, and know their way
around.
I am sure lots of people have encountered the same problem, or will, but
give up trying before they find this information and solution.
