Update KB936181 installed every time I shut down.

I have a HP Pavilion DV5000 running Windows XP Professional SP2.
The problem I have is that every time I shutdown it says that there is 1
update to install, it has been doing this since February 1, 2008.
I went to the Microsoft web pages and found an article on how to diagnose
and fix this, but no luck. I then opened a case with HP support using their
chat function. Basically they had me uninstall HP Help and Support and
install Microsoft’s Help and Support, so they where useless.
What I have done to try to fix this is the following:
1: Gone to Review your Update History off of the Microsoft web pages and it
shows that KB936181 has been installed every time I shut down successfully.
2: downloaded the patch from Microsoft and installed it manually in normal
mode.
3: Tried to install the patch in safe mode. This did not work, I did not
write the message down but there was something that it needed that was not
running.
I would do a search on Google but I have no idea what to search for.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Note: This update was successfully installed on my laptop back in August of
2007 when it was first released by Microsoft.

I just found something by doing a search on KB936181, it says the following:
Uninstall the Parser (MSXML 6.0 Parser (KB933579)),
Uninstalled the MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB936181)
Uninstall the MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB927978)- [the previous Version]
If you have the previous KB936181 in Add/Remove you must uninstall this
otherwise you may have the same problem again.

Restart computer,
Then use auto-update to update the (KB936181)

This leads me to another question, where do I go to do the uninstalls? These
are not listed in add/remove programs (yes I checked "show updates").

I will keep looking for answers.

I downloaded the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from the link in the
article. It looks like it installs but it does not appear in the start menu
under all programs. It is not in the remove/update programs either. Can you
please give me the link of where you found the article so I can read the
whole thing?

I got it to install, after reading the install screen and ending all other
windows programs running.

After unistalling the two MSXML's listed and then installing MSXML 4.0
Service Pack 2 and the security update (KB936181) it seems to have fixed the
problem. Only time will tell if it is fixed.

Thank you.
