Update KB942763 error code 80242014

Hi - I have a new Vista PC that has downloaded the update KB942763 and it
fails to load with the error code 80242014. Searched the knowledge base but
80242014 isn't in there. It appears that this update is causing the PC to
hang on Start with "configuring updates" on the screen. I can get it start in
Safe Mode with Networks and am using at the moment to post this.
Has anybody experienced similar and can give me a clue as to how to fix it?
