On June 20th Windows Auto Update installed KB950126 on my computer. After
that I was not able to connect to the internet from my desk top unit. I have
Comcast as my provider and I use a Linksys wireless router for my home
network. All of my laptops could continue to connect to the internet, just
the desktop was having the problem (the only computer the update was
installed on). I figured that it had to be related to a resent install since
I had no problems prior to this. I was able to find the list of Updates and
found that KB950126 was the last to be installed. I was able to uninstall
this update and was then able to reconnect to the internet. Yeah for me!!! I
have a Gateway GT5432 bought at Costco with VISTA installed. I have kept Auto
Update on until now. Can someone tell me what might have happened? I have
disabled Auto Upated for now. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Start a free Windows Update support incident request:
https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...spx?gprid=6527

Support for Windows Update:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/wusupport

For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY in
the United States and in Canada or by contacting your local Microsoft
subsidiary. There is no-charge for support calls that are associated with
security updates. When you call, clearly state that your problem is related
to a Security Update and cite the update's KB number (e.g., KB950216).

I blew away most of the weekend on this one. Stupid me - shudda come here
first! My brand-new palmtop was working fine on the wireless network. Then
auto-update took me to SP3. No more connection to network, thou wired
connection was OK. I believed it to be something with Linksys setup. I'm no
novice but this stumped me for hours. Then on phone with Linksys and they
gave up. Then read, on many 'sites', "roll back to SP2". I did and it
worked immediately. I'll be watching for the "reason" for this.
