Update KB951376

I went to try and update K889589 once again and there was this other critical
update to download and install. KB951376. It downloaded and installed just
fine, but the other one still fails.

See the various threads on KB889589 from yesterday/today in this very
newsgroup. It looks like a false detection by the MS servers in case
you're running Windows XP Media Center Edition and have SP3 for Windows
XP installed. In this case your system doesn't need KB889589 at all.
Run the Windows Update site, do a Custom Search, click on the "+" that
is shown before the KB889589 listing and enable the checkbox in front
of the "Don't show me this update again" (or similar) entry there.
