Update KB978542 error code 0x80070005

I keep getting a "fail" when trying to get the security update for Windows XP
KB978542. Error message is 0x80070005. I have already changed permissions,
but not resolved.
Any solution out there?

WinXP SP2 or SP3?

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)?

Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the
computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
it)?

Hi!

I got the same problem on my Windows Home Server (german). No Anti-Virus or
Firewall installed. All other updates are installed without problems: earlier
updates and younger updates.
Any idea?
