Update killed windows

I let windows update itself and it killed it. Now it will give the splash
screen, green bars run across then black screen and monitor light blinks.
However, I can get in through safe mode. How can I get it to come up
normally??????

i think i have the same problem as you... my case is, i updated the windows
by going to microsoft update. and there was a message box for downloading and
installing windows update. after installing windows update, windows prompted
to restart the system to take effect of the configuration. and then the
screen goes black, show the splash screen for the motherboard, green bar
crossing on windows logo, and then RESTART. same thing happens when the
system restarts. now i cannot log on to my domain because nothing appears on
my screen after showing the windows logo.

Try starting Windows in safe mode and using system restore, maybe that will
fix your problem and then NEVER EVER USE WINDOWS UPDATE!!!!!

even i start it in safe mode, it will automatically restart. i have no choice
than reinstall windows again. i've lost all my desktop application but at
least i still have my important files. thanks in your tip anyways.
