I'm using WSUS SP2 on a W2k3 server. All my workstations are XP SP3.

I have uninstall and reinstall my WSUS server because of too big
WSUSContents. Now, all my computers are back in the console and many updates
was needed by them. So I approved the updates needed, but many of them
(overall security updates) are not downloading by the workstations. Any are
installed well but any not.

O k a y . . . not sure why you would do that . . . there are much more
appropriate ways to maintain the content store.

Well. if you trashed the ~\WSUSContent folder, and then reapproved all of
your Needed updates, you're probably now waiting for the WSUS server to
re-download Gigabytes of content.

I run the server cleanup wizard once a month and have no problems

Deleting and reinstalling is mega trouble

You may have to wait untill all workstations report again

try wuauclt /reportnow /updatenow

then restart service windows automatic update

First.. this command is invalid . . .
-- the /updatenow flag is undocumented (and incorrect)

Second.. the /reportnow switch is only functional *if* the WUAgent has a
pending call to the ReportingEventWebService.

If one wanted to manually trigger a detection with immediate reporting,
first execute the detection

wuauclt /detectnow

and then after the detection has completed, flush the reporting buffer

wuauclt /reportnow

Third . . . it's trivial to trigger a detection on all clients by simply
changing a policy setting and waiting for a group policy refresh (90 mins
+/- 30 mins), such as changing the detection interval to a shorter time
temporarily (e.g. 2 hours), and then changing it back once the WSUS server
is fully populated with all clients, so it's not even necessary to run
commands at the client.

And restarting the Automatic Updates service does nothing functional at all
in this example.
