"henrybendix",
I would like to help. Windows Update uses some detection logic to reveal
which, if any, updates any given computer needs. The uninstall of .NET
Framework 1.1 may not have been as clean as it should have been. Would you
mind letting us know which update (KB number) you were trying to install
that failed? I would be happy to report back what you should do to avoid
being offered the update again.
Oh, and I should point out: The .NET Framework is required for applications
written in C#.NET, VB.NET, and C++.NET. There are applications available
that use this, so please consider carefully this requirement in your
decision whether or not to permanently go without the .NET Framework 1.1.
Thanks,
