I have a dell laptop with Windows XP Home Edtion. Recently, something is
wrong with my windows update. It keeps updating the Security Update for
Windows XP (KB923980): once the Security Update for Windows XP (KB923980) is
downloaded and installed suceessfully, after a while, the Windows notifies
that it needs to update KB923980 again. The uodating seems to be in a endless
cycle? Anybody knows what happens?

Hey, I've got the exact same problem, with the laptop and all!!! It's been
going on for several days now. It's really annoying!

My laptop is a HP/Compaq nx9020. Any similarities there?

I hope someone can help us soon. My problem is that I don't know who to ask.

/Dan

Oh... I had not checked the exact filename until now. I was a bit too excited
about finding someone else with the same problem I guess...

My problem is that I have 2 files (!) that want to be installed in an
endless number of times:
MSXML 4-0 SP2 Security Update (925672)
MSXML 4-0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978)

What should I do? This is already becoming a pain in my ass! *lol*

hi,
I had the same problem,
fixed it by going to windows update site
lettting the scan finish and then:
unticking the (KB923980) update, and then ticking the "hide this update"

and that fixed it

hope that helps

Hey! That's good! Nice to get rid of the pop-up thingie...

It solves the problem for the time being, but on a longer term the problem
is still there. I've noticed now that the updates tell me that they have been
installed every time I've tried, but I can't find them on my remove
programs-list.

But now I can relax for a while again.

Thanx!
