I keep getting message that there is an update available to me to get the
Office XP SP3. This update does not load because it asks for the MS Works
CD. The problem is that I don't have Office XP at all. I have Office 2000.
How can I stop getting these message to update my computer for something I
don't own.

Hmmm.
You said it asks for the "Works" CD. You sure you still don't have
componets from your Works installation floating around?
(Like Word?)

I apparently have Word 2002 and Works Suite 2003 on my computer. They must
have came with the computer when I bought it and I don't use them. I use
Office 2000 and do not have Office XP which is what's causing the problem
(SP3 for it).

Word 2002 is a component of Office XP. So you do in fact have Office XP, or
part of it at least.
Which is why you are being offered the update.

Thanks, I didn't realize that Word 2002 was part of MS Works Suite. I have
now upgraded my Word from 2000 to 2002 and the messages should stop now.
