Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB914454)

This update will not install. I'm not getting any reason for it, other than
failed.

Anyone any idea?

I am also getting failed installation of this update anyway I try! Any ideas?

I have the same problem and manual install does not work either.

I have had the same problem. Have followed your instructions and downloaded
full update but it still can not be applied. The machine has SP2, is clean of
virus, spyware, malware. Any ideas?

Problem solved for me at least. I uninstalled Office 2003 after backing up
my Outlook.pst and Archive.pst files in "C:\Documents and
Settings\HP_Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook"
and any other important files you may need to keep, rebooted and re-installed
Office 2003.
During the reinstall I was taken to the MS Office Update site which checked
for any needed updates and installed them during the re-install. The Junk
E-Mail Filter (KB914454) was intalled at this time along with all the
previous updates.

Hope this solves your problem too..

Manual install doesn't work either and I don't want to uninstall Office 2003,
unless I really have to.

Also another thing has started to happen since this install failed. When I
click on a link in an email (like the link I got to this web page telling me
there was a reply) it doesn't bring up the web page, it brings up a box that
is looking for an 'exe' file to open.

Has this failed installed caused some problem?

Sounds to me like you have some files jumbled up. I am certain that was my
problem since the uninstall and reinstall solved my problem. Re-installing
Office is pretty quick and simple to do and backing up or copying your data
is easy too. I have found over many years of running computers it is a good
idea to back up all your data and re-install the Operating System and other
Applications about once a year. Takes some time but generally after running
for a long period of time many things get jumbled up and by not taking care
of them right away things get worse and worse until you end up with major
problems and usually a loss of important data.

I tried this but the update still won't install! Any other suggestions please?!
