I am have a terrible time trying to keep my machine updated.
While i have internet connection at home, it is incredibly slow, and so
downloading updates which my machine keeps telling me i need takes forever (5
mins a meg - Eircom).
So while the automatic updates feature is downloading them in the back
ground, my surfing is slowed down to a virtual stop.
I have broadband in work and am wondering is it possible to actually find on
the maze the is microsoft.com the actual list of updates that have been
released from any given date.
Is it possible for me to download these/all updates for my specific OS and
just install them myself, at home. I know how to install etc, the only
problem is that every time i look for an update i keep getting sent to the
"Automatic" updater, and i dont need to update my work machine, my network
admin does that.

Please i desperatly need help, if i can just come back to the same location,
look for any updates listed, download them to my usb and then just install
them myself, then my slow connection would be freed somewhat.

please help,

Regards

You can download them from the Catalog and save to be installed later.

How to Download Windows Updates and Drivers from the Windows Update Catalog

Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what you want,
Click the “Go To Download Basket” link. Type in or browse to the location where you
want the updates saved to and then Click the “Download Now” button.
Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD.
