Update Problem Error Code 0x080244001

Any ideas on this error code? I have tried doing some searches but am
not pulling up much. I have tried a few quick remedies to fix this
problem but it seems to be pretty deep. I have renamed the
softwaredistribution folder, reregistered all the DLLs that have to do
with the service, renamed the catroot2 folder and deleted some other
dlls that said they had to do with the updates service via the groups
here but all have been to no avial. Any suggestions??

Sorry here is more info... I go to the update page it will show me the
express install option and the other I choose express it tried then
gives me the red box and gives me this error code. update log shows
that the client has never had a windows update on the system. Also it
goes to the red box with custom or express.

Same problem here - why on earth does the error code exist, and yet there be
no sign of a solution online?

When searching for available updates on the Windows Update site, you see the
0x80244001 error
