Update Problems with HP 2300

Hi there guys,

Here is a problem that I have recently noticed.

Using Windows XP that is networked to a domain, and religiously update the
computer however I came across the update the Drivers for the HP LaserJet
2300 PCL-6 drivers.

Since those drivers were installed 8-hours ago, I then were receiving
numerous of problems:

1 - Instead of printing on a full portrait A4 sheet, it printed a scaled
version on one side of a landscape A4 sheet.
2 - I printed a few more blank sheets, one before and one after the document
in question.
3 - A new window appeared showing the print job etc.
4 - Cannot access the Printing Preferences in the properties of the printer
where the application freezes where it gives you a memory error.
5 - The properties freezes to almost a point that the task manager has to
close the application in question.

I have resetted the computer however the error still happens. I even
attempted to reinstall the drivers and that also did not work out correctly.
The only solution is that I made is that I deleted the printer itself and
reinstall the entire driver itself from scratch through the Printer and
Faxes window.

Can anyone please advise what could be causing this problem?

Some people have bad luck getting drivers from Windows Update.
This happens often enough so that the general advice is not to get
drivers there, but to go to the manufacturer's site for driver updates.
