Problem is destructin of registry keys CAUSED BY running MICROSOFT LIVE
SAFETY CENTER REGISTRY CLEANER!!
Restore them with a double click on the .reg backup file in C:\Documents and
Settings\<user>\Applicaion Data\Windows Live Safety Center\Backup.
Nice one, Microsoft.

If you have recently used Windows Live Safety Center Registry Clean-up, then
you need to restore the registry keys that were deleted in the clean-up.

Use control panel "Folder Options", tab "View", to enable "Show hidden files
and folders"

Close all Internet Explorer windows.

Use Windows Explorer to navigate to folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Windows Live Safety
Center\BackUp\

and double-click the .reg file previously created by the Microsoft Safety
registry cleanup.

Hello,

I have tried to follow the solution that is metioned, but still can not find
the directory location. I am able to see hidden files, but do not see the
"Windows Live Safety Center" directory. Any suggestions?

Have you actually ever visited Windows Live Safety Center and done a
registry scan?
