You restored your system from a full backup prior to installing the updates
and that did not fix your issue?
Well - if that is true - then the problem is not the updates. Or you didn't
do a restore from backup.. heh

You haven't noted "what you usually do online" - so what the problem could
be - no clue. We don't even actually know the problem.. Only that MAYBE it
is related to some updates (which ones? - you uninstalled them - you should
be able to tell us the KB numbers) and Internet Explorer functionality (from
the subject.)

In short - without specifics - everything would be like throwing darts
blindfolded and drunk.
(I've done it - it can end up pretty ugly. hah)

One of the updates was that malicious remover thing. The last time I
installed it I had such problems that it took fews to get my computer back
running right. I forgot about the severe problems I had with that program and
like an idiot I installed it again. I don't know how to uninstall that. After
the update was installed I was trying to uninstall it but there was no where
to uninstall that one. That is why I tried to restore a "system" backup and
it did not fix the problem. That malicious remover program is the problem but
I don't know how to stop it from running or to uninstall it.

The Malicious Software Removal Tool is not installed.
It runs and then is gone, there is nothing to uninstall and a new updated
version is available each month:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/890830

If there is a problem seemingly caused by this tool, it is probable there
was malware on the computer and the removal of the malware leaves the
malware damage visible.
Not unlike a fire.
The fire may be put out, but the fire damage remains until repaired.

If you specify details of your problem, someone here may be able to help
with the solution.

Follow the yellow section on this page to help make sure the computer is
free of malware:

I ran Symantec Security check. It said "ActiveX and/or Scripting is not
supported or is not enabled"
