I have a intel based macbook pro with a 75G partition for Windows XP Home SP2.
64 G are free currently. I have downloaded XP Sp3 from microsoft update,
and attempted the install numerous times. It continuously fails. I get the
error that there is insufficiet free disk space on c:\windows\$ntuninstall$\
and that i need to free up 4Mb of space. I have run diskcleanup as suggested
and cleared all temp files, compressed old ones, and have those 64Gb free
overall. But I keep getting that error. I have searched the web for
solutions, but nothing works... so far !! Does anyone have any help for me ?
Thanks.

Keep your Macintosh software up to date as well as your Windows side of the
house?

I'd like to say it surprises me when people neglect their Macintoshes in
terms of upgrades/updates - but it doesn't.

You say you searched - but one has to ask, "What words did you use?"

Now is a great time to point you to one of the easiest ways to find
information on problems you may be having and solutions others have found:

Search using Google!
http://www.google.com/
(How-to: http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/basics.html )

Searching for:
Windows XP SP3 Macintosh
http://www.google.com/search?q=Windows+XP+SP3+Macintosh

First hit:
http://support.apple.com/downloads/B...for_Windows_XP
"Important: Installation of Boot Camp 2.1 is required before installing
Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3)"

Second hit:
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...windowsxp.html
"Important: Installation of Boot Camp 2.1 is required before installing
Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3)"

Essentially - known problem with your Macintosh software. Please update
your Macintosh software to remedy your issue that it is causing with your
Windows installation/service pack install.

Hope that helps!

After i formatted my computer on october'08 due to re-starting problem, it
was running finely for a few months, then the re-starting problem start again
(auto-restart). Most of the time it would restart several times as soon as it
boot back up to the welcome screen and sometimes restart before even it reach
the welcome screen.

I thought the problem is due to i didnt update the XP but after updates, the
computer was fine just for 2-3 days only then it start to restart again.

The computer is Microsoft Windows XP, Home Edition, version 2002, sp3.

Can any one help me over here??
