Update today/having problem

Todays update from Microsoft site gave me no option to choose in "custom"
section. Installed KB896688, plus 15 other updates. Now when I turn on
computer, it goes to the administrator opening page, not to my regular home
page, plus it is very slow. I'm sure I downloaded programs I do not need. I
tried to do a system restore but it would not work. What is wrong? I regret
doing this update but do not know how to get out of it. I am a beginner. Have
no idea how to cope. Saw another post about Control panel, add/remove. Tick
on "Show Updates. I do not have that feature. Have SP1. Can anyone tell me
why the "remove program" will not work? Thanks

Can you run a SEARCH for Files? If so then>>> Look for the updates from today
KB896688, 904706,905414,905749,901017,900725,902400 and 890830(but this one
you can't uninstall). Put it in the "All or part of file name" window and it
will bring up the "uninstaller" for that update. Maybe search for one at a
time...especaillyy 896688 is casuing most of the problems. Right click on it
and OPEN it and follow instructions.
