Update trys to reudate outlook express daily

Every day, update tries to reinstall the following update: Cumulative
Security Update for Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1 (KB837009)

This is after I reloaded Win98 in order to get my internet browsers working
again.

What do I need to do to make it take?

Hi. Have the same prob. Reinstalled SP1 and got the following: "Error
occurred loading C:\programfiles\commonfiles\microsoft
shared\msinfo\ieinfo5.0cx. The file may not have been installed or has been
corrupted." This is probably the culprit since I assume that "msinfo" is
what goes back to microsoft. Now I can't load SP3 because it says I haven't
loaded SP1 yet. Try searching techie articles re the problem. Or just pay
'em the $35 and I'm sure they'll have a fix for the fix.

If you installed the Security Update CD you may already have an
update which supersedes that one. It is not clear if such an install
is recognized by WU or if there is a secondary problem which makes
the superseded update appear to be needed.

I uninstalled Outlook Express 6 in > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
including any updates (this does not really seem to uninstall OE but is
necessary) Went back to > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and
highlighted remove Microsoft Internet Explorer. This will give you 3
selections, choose "Add a Component", then reinstall Internet Explorer.

Then after rebooting, open IE and click "Tools" at top of page and click on
"Windows Update". Then reinstall the lowest numbered updates in succession.
I am running WinME and only kept "Explorer" and "Systray" running while
deleting or installing any of the above.
