I just went to look for any new updates and it told me to download 3 packs
that I downloaded last month. checking my download history, they were
downloaded succesfully so why does the update system not take notice of the
update history for me?

It did the same thing to me. I trusted Microsoft to tell me if I already had
the update, so I downloaded Cumulative security update for outloot express 6
service pack 1 (KB837009) twice. Now neither my outlook express nor my
outlook will work. Got any ideas? I' m not a techie. I need help.

Additionally the messages I get are "Outlook express could not be started
because MSOE.DLL could not be loaded." And "Internet e-mail service is not
installed properly. Please reinstall Outlook and specify the corporate or
workgroup e-mail service."
Still not a techie and still stumped.

Sorry yellowgirl, I'm not a techie either. (Although I am used as one by two
people who have less idea tan me!) It sounds a difficult one to me so
suggest you find yourself a local techie who can sit down at your computer
and sort it out for you. They are always worhwhile finding and befriending!
