Update wants to keep reinstalling.

Microsoft keeps sending me KB938194. It successfully installed two days ago
but I still keep getting it as a recommended update. So I installed it again,
probably a bad blue because after I did that my computer keeps crashing when
I try to restart it. Can restart in Safe Mode only, no network. Can anyone
tell me why I keep receiving their notifications for this update when it was
successfully installed originally? Or do they use the same number for
different updates?

They use the same number for the 32 bit and 64 bit versions.

You could look at the stuff it fixes and decide if you must have it.
Whether you want it or not, try getting rid of it through Add or Remove
programs or System Restore. If that works, then either mark it "don't
show me this update again" when it's offered, or if you download it
from the above link know which you've got - Vista x86 or Vista x64.
