I've been trying for a few weeks to resolve an issue where Windows
Update starts, but never finishes and update.exe pegs the CPU at 99%
until the machine is restarted.

This is a totally clean install from a Win2k SP4 OEM install CD.

MSKB # KB830846 ( http://support.microsoft.com/?id=830846 ) does not
seem to apply.

It seems to be specific to my Abit TH7-RAID motherboard. Other systems
on the same network update fine. Bizarre.

Anyone have any experience with this? I've seen the problem mentioned
a few times in my searches, but I haven't seen a workable fix.
