update of windows 98 leads to Windows XP-site

Trying to update windows 98 SE. I did it successfully some hundred of times,
but now I'm led to a page designed for updating windows 2000 and XP. It says
some things like: "Only administrators"
I tried different update pages, but each time the same problem.
I found a solution for the contrarary problem (wanting to update XP, but
entering the site for windows 98) but that did not solve anything (of course)

Hello,

Please try the following:

Go to Windows update, on Left hand side of the update page click on
Administrator Options, then click on Windows update catalog, go down the
left side to; see also, click on Windows updates and then Scan for updates.
