Update for windows vista (kB931099) - 4/9/2007) will not install

I repeatedly have tried to install this update since it became available with
not success. I have read and followed the instructions/suggestions generated
with accompaning error codes (latest 80070643 - restart Office source engine
(OSE) service), KB903774. So far no suggested solution has been successful.

Does anyone have any information or a workable solution to this problem
which will allow the upgrade to be applied.

Running Vista business on single processor AMD 2600+. 1 Gb mem.
