Update for Windows Vista KB946041 don't install

It try once a day to automatically install Update for Windows Vista
(KB946041) but it fails every time. When it reboots, I see the message: "some
changes could not be completed, reverting changes".
I also downloaded the update alone and it failed to install.
What can I do ?
Another thing that is strange also is that when I go to event viewer, and I
click on "System", event viewer is closed down.
Can you help?
