Well, at least for the critical security updates, you will find direct
download links in the security bulletins for each update (that you can
use a non-IE browser to browse and download from):
http://www.microsoft.com/security/bu...s/default.mspx
You can also sign up for an e-mail notification when new security
bulletins are released.
