Ok, I recently upgraded from XP home to XP Pro 32 bit that I purchased from
the local college. I had installer 3.1 update installed. Things seemed
fine, now, auto update says I have updates, I set it to notify, so, I select
them and tell it to install. It downloads and then says it failed to
install. No error message, just failed. I went to the website and tried
again, and again, just failed.

Any help or ideas?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144/en-us applies for your
"Upgrade" scenario as well.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation

That is AWESOME! Thanks for the heads up. I will give it a go and see how
things turn out.
