When trying to update WINXP SP2 Home , I get the following error:

Network policy settings prevent you from using Windows Update to download
and install updates on your computer. If you believe you have received this
message in error, please check with your system administrator. Error Number
08Xddd0003.

Problem is, I am the administrator.

Help

KSB

Hi

Try this:

Start/Run ==> regedit.exe

Under the registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion
\Policies\Explorer

delete the value "NoWindowsUpdate" if it exist.

Under the registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion
\Policies\Windows Update

delete the value "DisableWindowsUpdateAccess" if it exist.

Under the registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion
\Group Policy Objects\LocalUser\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\Windows Update

delete the value "DisableWindowsUpdateAccess" if it exist.

If the above values was not found:

Do a global registry search (in regedit.exe) for registry values with name
NoWindowsUpdate
and
DisableWindowsUpdateAccess

and delete if found.

Thank You. Only question I have is how did this happen? (I don't really
expect answer. I think it just another of the "world's greatest mysteries,
MSWindows section.)
