Hello

Just to tell that i am chocked by my last conversation with MS support. The
14 April i had a very bad day after updates security was applied during the
night on my W2K3 sp1 AD infrastructure. The server reboot after updates were
applied and active directory services didn't start. We spent 4 or 5 hours,
trying to desinstall the 5 or 6 updates. At end we finally restart AD
services (desinstall & reboots..). Now i am afraid to reboot my 2 GCs, i
tried to call the MS support, i found on ths site the information that
Microsoft support freely problems with services packs & security updates. I
spent 20 minutes with the technician (in France with the phone number took
from the microsoft site). they told me that i need a support contract with
Microsoft or i need to buy an incident (256 ?) beause it's in incident on
servers, and most of all they are not available the saturday.
That means that i have to take the risk to block all my users on production.
I tried to know if it exists extra charges to open an incident and to have a
technicien during the WE but Microsoft only "helps" (whith charges) during
the week from monday to friday only !!!

I cannot beleive that, MS cannot support during extra business hours ?? and
the company who wok 7/7, 24/24 hour ??

Fafa

I work in a laboratory and we have 4 computers that updated and subsequently
crashed when we went to use Microsoft programs (word, powerpoint, etc.). Two
of the computers won't boot at all now, and the other two freeze when we go
to save the document we're working on. Trying to uninstall the updates
now... AARRGGHHH!!!
If you haven't downloaded the latest update already - don't do it!

Hello Robert,

Take a look at these articles:

Problems in Windows Explorer or the Windows shell after you install security update MS06-015 (15 Apr-06)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/918165

and http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms06-015.mspx which has been updated 4-15-2006

The registry changes mentioned in there are done by the REG file
included in the KB908531_Share-To-Web.zip file, which I offer for
those unfamiliar with humbling through the registry, which is the
heart and brain of Windows.

http://patch-info.de/WinXP/Downloads...are-To-Web.zip
Extract the ZIP file and afterwards double click the contained REG
file. Let it import into the registry.

FWIW,
Freudi
