Are updates definately installed ?

I have auto updates set to download & install on xp sp2. While checking
recent updates from the 15th, 16th, & 17th march I have found they were
successful. How ever when I check at Add & Remove programmes I found that two
of the updates are not listed there, Does any one know why? I'm sure plenty
of people do so please enlighten me & thanks in advance.

sorry i didn't explain properly but I have ALready checked my update history
and it says the updates KB890830 win.malicious software removal tool and
KB915597 defender definitions update were insalled succssesfully I then
checked add & remove programmes and they were not in there but the other
updates were.This aids my original question (not very well written) Are they
installed properly as they are not in add & remove just in my update hiostory

Explaining my original question a little better ... Do all updates appear in
add & remove programmes as well as in the update history, when I checked two
of mine were successfully downloaded and installed after checking update
history but they don't appear in add & remove programmes. details of the
updates posted earlier. can't find any info on this question any where.
