I know the following is strange but I am stretchng the old gray matter and
am probably whistling in the dark.

Early last year when I had an older puter with Win 98 and before the change
in Windows Update site, I found in Windows Updates an option (library?) to
download as a group, a whole bunch of updates to a disk or folder, which I
did.

Now that I have a new Dell XPS Gen, and the new Windows site I can find
nothing re this.as it seems that it was not carried over to the new win
update site.

I know I can downnoad them one at a time from the Security Bulletin each
month, but wonder if that old option is available windows update or has this
gone by the wayside?

Thanks in advance

You can download them from the Catalog and save to be installed later.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...en/default.asp

How to Download Windows Updates and Drivers from the Windows Update Catalog
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=323166

Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what you want,
Click the “Go To Download Basket” link. Type in or browse to the location where you
want the updates saved to and then Click the “Download Now” button.
Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD.

I prefer to find the KB articles each month. Then, I shortened the
file name as I download them. When I look at the KB article, I notice
how then then can be installed.

Then I write a little script file to install then like the one below:

KB890830.EXE /Q /N
KB896688.EXE /Q /N
KB899589.EXE /Q /N
KB900725.EXE /Q /N
KB902400.EXE /Q /N
KB904706.EXE /Q /N
KB905414.EXE /Q /N
KB905749.EXE /Q /N

Also you look at the windowsupdate.log to get the full download path.
