When I turn off the computer it says I have updates to be installed
(currently 94!). If I click install and turn off, the updates seem to
install. However, the next time I turn off the computer I still have 94
updates to install?

Is my computer starting up on a past restore point, or what?

If Windows XP (next time - you might want to include some vital information
in your posting)...

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144
Try method 1 and try to update*.
If fails - try method 2 and try to update*.

*try to update:
- Visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
- If it asks you to install anything before you see a selection of "Custom"
or "Express" - do so.
- Once you see the "Custom" or "Express" selection, choose "Custom".
- Scan for updates.
- When it lists what it finds - install the critical ones.
- You are generally safe doing the Optional Software Updates. I suggest
avoiding the Optional Hardware Updates completely.

Hello,

Can you verify that the 94 updates have been installed?

Can you just select one update and watch to see if it gets sucessfully
installed?

Also, you can post your windowsupdate.log file here, so we can see if you
are getting any type of error.
