What updates do i need???????????????????????????

I have a compaq with xp it was purchase about 1 year ago, just opened 1 month
ago It has a celeron processor. i installed verizon dsl. All was ok until a
power outage. i Called verizon to set up the dsl again. When i click on
verizon i get a error message shutting down nt authority. So i cant get on
line to get any updates. what updates do i need and how do i get? Compaq wont
help because warrant is up. They will tell me for $40.

You need them all. You also have the Sasser Worm. Removal instructions are
found here:

Then go here to download Service Pack 2 to your desktop. Simply click the
Install button.

Then get some up to date anti-virus software. Here's a link to a free A/V

You connected to the internet with no firewall... you have the Blaster worm.
