I downloaded hardware updates from windows update yesterday for my Hp
printer and as they started to instal they just stopped. I forced it to
close but now the whole system is slow. Checked on the update website and it
does not show the updates, nor does it show that I have them on my pc when I
use that option, Can anybody help please?

I am using xp home edition with Eset and Prevx2 security

You should get all your hardware updates directly from the manufacturer's site.
For your printer, get the update from HP.

As for the mess - try a system restore.

Windows updates seem to be more trouble than they are worth.

"If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it" should be applied in this case
especially. Always read what the updates do and never just update because
you think you are gaining something. Most of the time you are NOT and are
asking for trouble.
