Hello,
When I go to update my software using the microsoft update center I am
flaged as having 21 updates I need to download. I go to download them and
they all keep coming up as:
downloading XXXXXXX (update 1 of 21)...failed!
downloading XXXXXXX (update 2 of 21)...failed!

I am running a validated OEM installed copy of windows XP SP2.
Any help is greatly appreciated

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902093

3b. Compare errors to those listed here:

It looks like its something to do with the "insufficient range support" and
error code 0x80200011.

BITS Error Codes & WSUS Server Error codes
0x80200011
-2145386479
BG_E_MISSING_FILE_SIZE
The proxy doesn't support HTTP 1.1 correctly. Or the URL is a dynamic URL.
BITS supports only static URLs

Windows Update Error Codes
0x80200011
-2145386479 BG_E_MISSING_FILE_SIZE When BITS sends a HEAD request and
server/proxy doesn’t return Content-Length header in the response, BITS puts
the job in ERROR state with BG_E_MISSING_FILE_SIZE. BITS 1.5 puts the job in
ERROR state with BG_E_INVALID_SERVER_RESPONSE error. Apache 2.0 proxy server
is known to exhibit this behavior.

Review this recent thread:
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...77d80b9032c779

I'd recommend that you start a free Windows Update support incident request:
https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...spx?gprid=6527

Tip: Temporarily disable real-time protection by your anti-virus and/or
anti-spyware applications (e.g., CounterSpy, Spysweeper, Spybot, AVG
Anti-Spyware) and/or any third-party firewall (e.g., ZA) before attempting
to install the update(s).
