My update page will not connect to the Internet, even though all other
Internet connections are working fine. Any fixes please? Or other ways of
accessing critical updates? Thanks.

I am having the same problem. the web browser states that I am not connected
to internet, but I am receiving emails and messenger is connected. I have
checked through the troubleshoot and everything seems to be as it should be.
I have restored four times now and my only option is to try and install the
updates individually to find out which update is causing this problem.

You can probably do the same by adjusting automatic update settings. I will
let you know if I have any success. I am glad that I am not the only one
with this problem and now know it is to do with the updates. Annoying
though. Good luck

All I can suggest is that you keep trying. I finally managed to make the
connection, after many failed attempts and even re-installing IE7, though I
don't think that was the problem - and downloaded 17 critical updates! But
I'm not confident it won't happen again.
