For the last three weeks I've been trying to install the updates found by
Windows Updater. The updates invariably succeed, but on restart are listed
as needing to be installed by the updater. I currently have 11 updates to
install, including the MS Office SP 2.

I tried hiding all updates then restoring; restarting the updater service;
installing each update one after the other with a restart in between--nothing
helps. The hard drive is far from full (66g free), was recently defragmented
(it's defragmented weekly) and had a full virus scan yesterday.

Ideas?

Thanks

Vista, Windows XP or other?
SP level?

Are there any specific error codes noted?

If appropriate, check the windowsupdate.log for details regarding why they
may be failing and post back.
