I am getting this error on my Windows 2000 SP4 machine through a dial-up
connection, and I'm not running Panda. I've applied many of the fixes
discussed in this newsgroup to no avail. I've had a Microsoft tech working
the problem, but he doesn't seem to know what to do either. He eventually
closed the case and subsequent attempts to reach him at the e-mail address
he provided result in the mail being returned as undeliverable.
It's hard to believe MS is clueless about this problem, given the hundreds
of postings here and elsewhere, but their web site is completley silent on
the subject. Does anyone really understand what is happening with their
update service?
