Updates involving Outlook are rude

In any update involving Outlook, why does MS insist on making Outlook the
default email program (which is a change to my system) and why does MS insist
on adding an Outlook shortcut icon to the TaskBar even if one was already
there before the update (resulting in 2 Outlook icons after the update)?

Installing OL updates changes the default mail handler from OE to OL

This concerns us, too. The Outlook/Office team says they don't care and
won't fix this.
